This was such a visceral(affectionate) story! The way you described the ardousness that every movement became in this hostile world. The ending I got made me tear up as it took this really hopeful turn. Things will be different someday 💖
Thank you so much!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! It sounds like you got the 'good' ending, I'm really glad it could connect with you like that. Thank you for reading it!
opening with the word "chronoception" made me know that oh this is gonna be good
Overall, I really liked the writing. Your prose is gentle and pleasant to read, and the imagery spanning across sky and sea and flesh is perf <3
I went down the stairs and the disappointment and hurt and miscommunication conveyed at the conclusion of that arc felt so damn palpable. great job.
Also,, giant red polyhedron.. lmao (affectionate) it actually didn't feel jarring and felt like SUCH a threat. Really cool!
Quotes that went so hard I wanted to highlight them with this comment
- "Existence takes no questions and explains nothing. You are, and that's how it is."
- "Tomorrow's pain will be the same."
Your writing rules >.< Overall, this was so so lovely :3
The only thing I actually wanted to note is that in the last few screens, having music with vocals can make it difficult to read text (at least it's that way for me when I also understand the language sung) Maybe you could consider only fading in vocals when the credits start rolling? But I also very much get the narrative impact of ending it that way, and it did feel really nice~ brain is just fuzzy sometimes nya
On my god, thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. And yeah, that's probably a good point about the music. Also you got to music with words, how many endings did you get???
I'm glad you liked the imagery, quotes, and polyhedron, lol. It means a lot coming from you especially! I've got some catching up to you to do with my ludography, hehehe. I gotta start drawing more, I'm hoping to join the rapidly upcoming toxic yuri vn jam, so I better figure out what I'm doing by then, ehehe
Oh I didn't even know there's different endings! I only got one, I generally am not inclined to completionism lmao
This also makes things way more interesting because I showed ocean red to a friend who really liked it too and until now we had been chatting as if we had largely the same experience >w< very funky
I can't wait to see what you get up to for the toxic yuri jam :3 if you feel like chatting about getting into those different parts of gamedev hmu on discord or anywhere else too if you feel like it nya
The experience is largely the same, your ending is determined by whether you ate, slept, both, or neither, but most of the story is the same otherwise. I think you probably got the 'bad' ending in that case, though both the 'good' and 'bad' have music with lyrics. I think the 'neutral' one is the most likely, which makes it interesting your friend got the same one, hehe.
And thank you for the offer!! I might take you up on that soon!
